London Herstory Walking Tours by Flockless

Step into Herstory

Welcome to Flockless, the home of London Herstory Walking Tours and Flockless holidays.

Edwardian Tea Salon

October 4th 2026

I feel like I have been chasing around the city looking for the right venue and just last week I found it.  The Hammersmith club on Rutland Grove in Hammersmith is a venue with a history dating back to the 1700s.  It's grand ballroom with a stage and balcony will be the ideal place for my Edwardian Tea Salon.

Instead of me treading the cobbles of London town in the rain and snow (ok so snow is probably a bit dramatic but rain and cold is for sure) I will be in a nice cosy grand old ballroom telling you the story of tea.

Think of it as a Herstory walk without the walk.  I will use visuals and music to help tell the story of one of our oldest drinks.  As usual the emphasis will be on women's role in this story.

I will be aided in telling this story by some of the members of the lyric ensemble.

In addition we have the wonderful Eisa Tea Company providing us with our tea and home made scones, cream and jam to accompany it.

It will be a gorgeous semi immersive afternoon event.

The tickets will go on sale this week.  Please keep your eyes out for the launch.

Fun, Friendship & Freedom on Flockless Holidays

Explore the world, learn a new skill and make friends

Our purpose is always to find small hotels to work with so that we can be sure that our group are the only people in the hotel. This ensures a cohesion rarely experienced anywhere else.  The first night we enjoy a getting to know each other dinner and from then on you are welcome to enjoy as much or as little of the activities as you wish.

Great news, you can play by phone or card before the walk starts although booking is recommended.

Check weather in London area before setting off and bring the right clothes.

Bloomsbury in August will be divine.  The area is positively teeming with stories of women who broke the gender barriers and gave us the herstory we so desire and love.  Women have been sidelined in the history books for too long.  I tell their stories...

Over the years I have been used to the odd man joining my tours but if I am honest it has only been one, occassionally two but yesterday it was three.  They stayed for the coffee in wonderful independent cafe La Messeria in Marylebone.

Hammersmith is near enough to the capital but far enough to avoid the crowds. It has a beautiful riverside walk which highlights some incredible herstories.  Somers town is a largely invisible spot near the British library and it's herstory is suprisingly rich.

If you like your history washed down with a pint or a large vino collapso then this is the tour for you.  Periodically (my liver can't take a weekly) I take you round the West End of London and we show zero respect to the statues and historic buildings which have until now housed the establishment.  You get to feel like a rebel for the night and I get to offload all my scorn for history!!!!

Bermondsey used to be a no go area right up until the 90s... then all of a sudden the skyscrapers went up, the old dock area became gentrified and our tourist visitors suddenly started asking how they could get to Borough market.  I take you round the faded back streets and we finish in a cafe that is a best kept secret.  August TBA

I have opened up the waitlist for this year's retreat.   The tagline is Fun, Friendship and Freedom and that is just what we had. Waitlist is growing for the next one. We shall be going to Corfu.  Please let me know if you would like to go on that list.
