“I do women’s history tours,” I told the East End taxi driver at Heathrow.
He rolled his eyes.
“Wouldn’t be much for me then.”
Five minutes later he was demanding my card after hearing about the Krays, stolen couture, London’s all-female criminal gang the Forty Elephants, and the Queen of Thieves who never grassed on anyone.

Our purpose is always to find small hotels to work with so that we can be sure that our group are the only people in the hotel. This ensures a cohesion rarely experienced anywhere else. The first night we enjoy a getting to know each other dinner and from then on you are welcome to enjoy as much or as little of the activities as you wish.
Great news, you can play by phone or card before the walk starts although booking is recommended.
As we approach World Tea Day I have exciting plans to organise a tea event in central London which will be a revelation to many of you. Over the years I have been used to the odd man joining my tours but if I am honest it has only been one, occassionally two but yesterday it was three. They stayed for the coffee in wonderful independent cafe La Messeria in Marylebone.
Hammersmith is near enough to the capital but far enough to avoid the crowds. It has a beautiful riverside walk which highlights some incredible herstories. Somers town is a largely invisible spot near the British library and it's herstory is suprisingly rich.
If you like your history washed down with a pint or a large vino collapso then this is the tour for you. Periodically (my liver can't take a weekly) I take you round the West End of London and we show zero respect to the statues and historic buildings which have until now housed the establishment. You get to feel like a rebel for the night and I get to offload all my scorn for history!!!!
Sunday 21st June we shall be celebrating Herstory Pride. We begin in Kings Cross, a basement which birthed a movement, a young girl, a terribly distressing secret, a move to the big city and the evolution of a movement... don't miss this impactful walk through Bloomsbury into Soho 2pm
